The World Forum on the Future of Sport Shooting Activities

Research and Statistics Committee

Objectives:

The WFSA understands that any dialogue on sport shooting must be grounded on a bedrock of unimpeachable statistics and research.

The compilation and dissemination of unbiased, comprehensive statistics will provide all regulatory bodies with a foundation on which to make sound decisions.

The WFSA believes that reliable statistics are the best way to document the economic, cultural and social benefits of sport shooting.


Programs

Project on Myths: The WFSA Statistics and Research Sub-Committee gathers information on statistical myths and pseudo-scientific facts being used against the hunting and sport shooting community. Misinformation knows no borders in the modern world. Solid data collected from many sources identify and refute these erroneous assertions which are being used in numerous countries.

Hunters and Sport Shooters: numbers and economic benefits: The Statistics and Research Sub-Committee collects genuine data about the number of hunters and sport shooters in the world. It also compiles data on the economic benefits of hunting and sport shooting.
